• 23.0% or about 68,434,000 ha of India is forested
• India lost an average of 224,750 ha or 0.35% per year between 1990-2010
The Mutual Fund industry plays a role in these statistics as a consumer of paper. At Karvy Computershare we realize the need to own up to the responsibility of playing a part in reducing the deforestation rate in India.
One of the key areas of concern that consumes the maximum percentage of paper in the industry is printed communication of transactions made with Mutual Funds. In our endeavour to contribute towards reducing the deforestation rates in India, Karvy Computershare has started its ‘etree initiative’ to encourage investors, distributors and AMCs to access information pertaining to their Mutual Funds in electronic form to eradicate the need of printing statements.
We encourage all investors investing in Karvy Computershare serviced Mutual Funds to opt for e-Statements to reduce the number of Account Statements being printed for transactions made by investors
